…. I did! and it feels awesome!
I never did get a chance to vote all these years, what with working in different cities at different points in time and never having a “permanent address” which I could put down to get into the voters list. But this time I was determined. I was determined to get my voter id card, which I did after chasing the authorities around.
We had to go over to my in-laws place (which, incidentally, is my permanent address) early in the morning so that we wouldn’t have to wait in long queues. We needn’t have worried. The EC has made awesome arrangements this time- voting booths at every half km or so, so voters didnt have to walk/ travel too far and only around 1000 voters per booth.
We just walked in with our voting id cards, “inked” our index fingers, went behind the screen, voted and walked out. As simple as that!
As Hrithik Roshan, says in “Lakshya”, “I dont know why, I always knew but never felt it so strongly before, that I am an Indian” !
Hey CD, great to hear from you.
How are you doing?
I voted too (second time) and it sure feels very responsible
Yes and it feels good. I have not been voting for years since i was out of country. Of being a citizen and the right to vote feels amazing.
I did not
I am registered at my “permanent address”, which, as you well know is in Bombay!
Boo hoo! This sucks!
I wanted to vote!!!!
But I am glad you did!
Congrats on teh baby girl !
